Winter Beauty

When I was in high school I used to get really depressed when winter came. Ohio winters definitely have their moments of beauty, but so much of the season can be quite gloomy. Grey skies, cold rain, dirty, old snow. I decided I needed to find something nice about winter. I noticed that the shape of the bare trees against the sky could actually be quite exquisite.

I think today is the first time I intentionally photographed this little bit of winter beauty. I don't think it will be my last.

Now, I just have to figure out why my camera always has shadows in the corners--I'm beginning to think something is wrong with the sensor...

I love the bare trees, too. I miss the snow down here in NC. In fact, I miss the grey and the gloom, too. Weird, I know. But the bare trees-- such stark clarity against the sky-- remains a real consolation. I'll look forward to more photos.
