Canon
I missed yesterday. I didn't even take any pictures. So I posted two today. I'm getting near the end (I end on March 29), and I'm ready to be done. I'm looking forward to the next project, but I do need to see this one through.
This is an old camera we found in our house. I'd love to take some pictures with it, but I don' t have any film, and I'm not sure if it even works any more.

Dress
Sunday, January 20, 2008
Before Christmas I bought Photoshop Elements, but I haven't taken the time to sit down with it and figure it out. It is very overwhelming to me. I think I need someone who is familiar with it to give me lessons or something. I'm not sure that this is the kind if thing I can learn just by messing around with it. I tried to work with it tonight to fix this picutre--that one little section of the dress is overexposed, and I am very annoyed by it, but I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I just ended up feeling very angry and frustrated. So I am reluctantly posting this picture and wishing I could have fixed it, or wishing I had noticed the problem at the time and tried to fix it by adjusting my camera settings.
On a different note, I only have about two months left in my year of daily shooting and posting. I think I've learned almost all I'm going to learn with this particular project, but I have an idea for what I will do next, that I think will help me move beyond the plateau I seem to have landed on. I'll let you know sometime in the coming months what that is...

I had a great time last night hanging out with co-workers until 1:30 AM. I wasn't up for sorting and choosing and posting when I got home, so here is last night's shot.

Stay Tuned
I took some pictures tonight. I didn't feel like it, as I often haven't lately, and I contemplated just forgetting about it for today. But I took a few pictures anyway. Actually, all I did was set the camera down on the floor, push the automatic focus until it beeped, then used the remote Mark got me for Christmas to shoot a picture. At least it was something.
But then, as has often happened lately, my card reader wouldn't work. Ever since we installed and then uninstalled a driver for a generic webcam, our computer just decides from time to time not to recognize anything plugged into a USB port. Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhh.
Usually restarting the computer fixes this problem. But I don't have the patience or energy tonight to wait for the computer to reboot and then go through my pictures and post one. So, I'm writing this to let you know that although I did shoot some pictures tonight, I will not be posting one till tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Under the Bridge
This may not have been the best choice today, but it was tough to decide. This one was unusual, so that's why I picked it. We walked this afternoon in Euclid Creek Reservation. It was one of those grey, gloomy days, but it was unusually warm, so the slush and dirty snow didn't seem as depressing. It just felt great to be out in the fresh air. Of course, this picture doesn't quite say "fresh air". But, again, it is unusual, and I like the lines and greys and rust marks in the corner.

Winter Beauty
When I was in high school I used to get really depressed when winter came. Ohio winters definitely have their moments of beauty, but so much of the season can be quite gloomy. Grey skies, cold rain, dirty, old snow. I decided I needed to find something nice about winter. I noticed that the shape of the bare trees against the sky could actually be quite exquisite.
I think today is the first time I intentionally photographed this little bit of winter beauty. I don't think it will be my last.
Now, I just have to figure out why my camera always has shadows in the corners--I'm beginning to think something is wrong with the sensor...
